OSAMA ABDULRASOL ART EXPO
The artistic soul of musician, composer and visual artist Osama Abdulrasol is hard to summarize in a few words. His origin is Iraqi, his passport Belgian, but he is above all a cosmopolitan. His background and musical career took him just about anywhere in the world, and are part of the inspiration for his visual work. Where his native city of Babylon is said to have been the home of hundreds of languages, resulting in total alienation and chaos, quite the opposite happens in the work of Osama Abdulrasol: many influences and backgrounds come together and form an artistic expression that everyone can understand. Nowhere is this more evident than in his visual works. Osama uses various techniques to turn the images in his head into reality. Sometimes he uses digital methods, enhanced by the use of different materials, textures and Sumerian patterns, at other times he uses his skill in woodcarving to translate his ideas.
