Itzhak Solsky resides in Belgium since 2010, where he hosts the “Itzhak Solsky and Friends” concert series for the fourth season running, featuring music for solo piano, as well as chamber music with leading artists in Belgium and elsewhere.
Itzhak Solsky is a graduate of the Rubin Music Academy in Tel Aviv University, under Prof. Yonathan Zak. He took a professional two years course at the Fiesole Music School under Prof. Maria Tipo. His repertoire includes Beethoven’s 32 piano sonatas, almost all of the writings of Frederic Chopin, and a huge selection of works by composers from very diverse nationalities and periods. It can be obtained upon demand.
His CDs, issued under the Romeo Records label, have won the critics’ acclaim in Gramophone Magazine, All Music Guide, Fanfare magazine, Klavier magazine, American Record Guide – and the “Ha’ir” Tel Aviv newspaper.
Itzhak Solsky was the 2nd prize winner, and won special prizes for chamber music, vocal accompaniment and the best performance of a piece by Faure, in the international Senigallia Piano Competition (Italy, 1994). He taught a master class event in Kfar Shmaryahu (2005), dedicated to the 32 Beethoven Piano Sonatas, which are all in his repertoire.
He was accepted to the Tel Aviv music conservatory at the age of six. Early achievements include winning the conservatory piano competition, taking 5th prize in the young talents Maariv Lanoar competition, winning America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships and playing for the Israeli president, Chaim Herzog, at his residence at the age of 12.
Itzhak Solsky was born in Tel Aviv and started to play the piano, under the tutelage of his father, at the age of 4.
