OORWENK! Works from Femke Sonnen, Vincent Hepp, Thomas Kanter, etc
Oorwenk! (Ear-wink in English) is a collective of musicians who create and perform their own works. They are not confined to a single style, composing through their own passion for music. The concert programs are very diverse in style, and are varied and original in character. The performing musicians in this concert are violinists Femke Sonnen & Yuri Higashida, viola player Vincent Hepp, cellist Thomas Kanter, Nieke Schouten, english horn and bassoonplayer Cian O’Mahony. These musicians play all in the orchestra of the Koninklijke Muntschouwburg, the Opera in Brussels. The tenor Phillip Defrancq performs in Belgium, Colombia, France, Moscow, the Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland.
On the program works from Femke Sonnen, Vincent Hepp and Thomas Kanter, as well as short works from John Cage and Kodaly.
